Coon Rapids was named one of Iowa's "Great Places" because of all that it offers people who choose to live here and those who visit. Coon Rapids is a community of approxiamately 1300 residents located in southeastern corner of Carroll County. The area encompasses a number of features found in its natural environment, including the Whiterock Conservancy that stretches through eight miles of pasture, timber, prairie and wetlands.
